Revenue generating marketing ideas from elite creative minds unafraid to break agency rules.

Nothing solves a marketing problem faster than a flurry of ideas.

SCROLL DOWN

Revenue generating marketing ideas from elite creative minds unafraid to break agency rules.

Nothing solves a marketing problem faster than a flurry of ideas.

It's expert sourcing. Not crowdsourcing.

We have assembled and virtually connected a small, award-winning team of creative Experts from tier one agencies and clients around the world to work in teams of four generating ideas around your business need. All strategically inspired and curated by a guy who pitched and won over $1 billion in billings at his last ad agency.

Ideasicle in under 7 minutes.

Unlike crowdsourcing solutions, our ideas are not sourced from the unvetted masses, but from a potent pool of now-28 creative marketing minds. Each was hand-picked by our founder, Will Burns, who worked closely with each and every one of them at some point during his 20-year advertising career at agencies like Goodby, Wieden & Kennedy, Arnold, Mullen, and others. Some even helped him win that billion dollars.

These marketing “Superfriends” are award-winning creative directors, writers, strategists, agency principals, client innovators, naming experts, PR professionals, designers, parenting experts, multi-cultural experts, digital gurus, social media experts, retail-innovation experts and more.

They work in teams of four in what we call our "Post, Build and Riff" virtual method (more on that below).

But Ideasicle is an amalgam of experience, talent, perspective and a whopping dose of zero bias. And we’re breaking all the rules to do it.

Nothing Is Unthinkable

Nothing is unthinkable.

Nothing Is Unthinkable

Nothing is unthinkable.

Seriously, nothing is unthinkable here.

Clients come to us for one of two reasons: one, they need a specific kind of an idea; two, they have a marketing problem and are not sure what kind of idea to prescribe. Either way, you can expect a flurry of ideas for any challenge you throw at us.

SPECIFIC IDEA IS NEEDED:

Brand Ideas, Promotional Ideas, PR Stunts, Mobile App Concepts & Functionality, Social Media Ideas, Advertising Concepts, Tag Lines, Short Film Concepts, Names (for companies, products, features, anything), etc. Stuff like that.

Or sometimes it's a Quick Hit where we do one round of ideas to jump start your own creative process (useful for ad agencies and in-house agencies - case study with Constant Contact here and Vistaprint here).

Or even "Pitch Insurance" - one of our clients came up with  this one. They conducted an agency review and hired Ideasicle as "insurance" to make sure they got to a great idea. Read more on that case study

PROBLEM TO SOLVE:

When the client has a problem to solve, we do what we call a "Blue Sky" session, where we will come up with any and all kinds of ideas—working within parameters of production budget and timing, of course—that solve the problem. Our outside perspective virtually guarantees we'll give you fresh new ways to solve lingering marketing problems.

And you'll love this.

We don't get all precious and present only three ideas and then try to ram a recommendation down your throat. We present about ten ideas (on average) and don't try to "sell" any of them. We just present them and listen to your reaction. That reaction feeds our second round of ideas making them even sharper and more potent. In this way, our clients are an integral part of the creative process.

So it's really two flurries of ideas per project. We even have "Nothing Is Unthinkable" tee shirts.

Zero execution = Zero bias.

As a matter of principle, we do not execute our ideas, we only think of them. It’s liberating, really. We strip away the executional biases by reducing marketing to its essence: the idea. Yes, we leave lots of money on the table, but we don’t care. Our model guarantees that we will never edit our ideas based on the amount of money we’ll make executing them.

Our clients execute using their existing resources or we can recommend a resource through our network. Sometimes we even assign an Expert to a job with the intention of using his or her agency for execution. There is literally no telling what we’ll come up with, even if it’s free to execute.

Expert Sourcing

The “Post, Build And Riff” Method

Expert Sourcing

The “Post, Build And Riff” Method

Our first idea was this magical method.

Our Experts do not compete with each other like they do in crowd sourcing solutions. Instead, they are incentivized to work their magic in teams of four, posting ideas on the platform and riffing off each other until the polished gems emerge. And it’s that posting, building and riffing between four different talents and perspectives that is the real magic of Ideasicle. It's quite a sight.

Why four Experts on a team?

That's from years of trial and error. We've found four to be the perfect number because it's a big enough group to get multiple perspectives "colliding," but not so big that the Experts clam up, become intimidated, or otherwise over-edit themselves. As odd as it sounds, even bad ideas can spark great ideas in others through our Post, Build and Riff method.

In fact, here's a case study where a non-idea (an Expert simply informing the team of his schedule) led to an idea we presented to a client.

 IT'S NOT COMPLICATED. JUST POWERFUL.

IT'S NOT COMPLICATED. JUST POWERFUL.

There are virtues to our virtual idea-generation.

Even the virtual nature of our process has its virtues. The idea generation happens on a password-protected virtual technology platform that makes it incredibly easy for the Experts - no matter where they are - to absorb a video briefing, post ideas in time-deferred ways (we have no meetings), and see each other’s ideas for maximum riffing and building.

Here's why it works.

WHENEVER, WHEREVER AN IDEA STRIKES IT'S POSTED.

WHENEVER, WHEREVER AN IDEA STRIKES IT'S POSTED.

CREATIVITY CAN'T BE FORCED.

Working virtually means the experts working on a project can take in an inspiring brief online and then allow creativity to happen naturally. We have deadlines, but no “gun to their heads” in the form of a two hour brainstorm during which they better come up with idea. Creativity doesn’t happen that way. We just equip them with what they need to post their ideas when they happen for the rest of the team to see and develop. And ideas inspire ideas in others. It's exponential.

 NO POSTURING, JUST POSTULATING.

NO POSTURING, JUST POSTULATING.

THE EXPERTS ARE REDUCED TO A TYPEFACE.

In traditional brainstorms human dynamics get in the way. The loud person who just wants to be heard, there’s office politics, showing off, posturing, even gender/racial biases at play. There’s none of that in the virtual space, as they are all literally reduced to a typeface. All on equal footing.

CAN YOU SPOT THE IDEASICLE EXPERT?

CAN YOU SPOT THE IDEASICLE EXPERT?

MULTIPLE PERSPECTIVES MEAN EXPONENTIAL IDEAS.

Typically an agency has a writer and an art director go off and concept. Two perspectives and that’s it. With our model we have found that four experts can work far more productively. Four is not so many that it’s intimidating and stifles risk-taking, but not too few where there are too few perspectives clashing. With our model you can have a writer, art director, a PR person and cultural anthropologist working on an assignment together, all coming at the problem from very different places, inspiring each other.

SHE WAS THE PERFECT PERSON FOR THIS JOB AND BECAUSE IT'S VIRTUAL WORK, WE GOT HER.

SHE WAS THE PERFECT PERSON FOR THIS JOB AND BECAUSE IT'S VIRTUAL WORK, WE GOT HER.

ALWAYS HAVE THE RIGHT PEOPLE.

No longer is a company forced to use only the talent on hand. We have recruited creative Experts with all kinds of experience so that, for any given project, we can assemble the perfect team. Read more about how we assemble these teams and how, for some projects, we assign what we call an "Anchor Expert" with a particular superpower to anchor the team here.

IDEASICLE "IS LIKE AN IDEA VIDEO GAME."

IDEASICLE "IS LIKE AN IDEA VIDEO GAME."

IT'S FUN.

We’ve been told that coming up with ideas virtually in teams of four is incredibly fun. One expert said, “It’s like an idea video game.” We're not surprised since ideas are who these people are. And you've got to think that experts having fun will only increase their creativity.

So, whether it’s coming up with creative ideas for a tag line, a more elaborate promotion or even having us “blue sky” creative ideas to solve large marketing problems, we can get you the magic of great thinking very quickly.

How It Works

Where a challenge meets a flurry of ideas.

How It Works

Where a challenge meets a flurry of ideas.

Ideasicle in action: we love a good challenge.

William Shakespeare once wrote in Hamlet, "Nothing is but thinking makes it so."

We agree.

And while we can’t divulge the ideas we came up with for Charles Schwab, Lowe's, Constant Contact, Staples, The Limited, Saranac, Vistaprint, Reebok, or The New York Times, we did find a way to give you a look under the Ideasicle hood, three times.

Below are links to three Forbes articles Ideasicle founder and Forbes Contributor, Will Burns, wrote. Each article highlights an actual Ideasicle session for very high profile products: Google Glass, Apple Watch, Replica Watches and Burger King. For the articles, actual Ideasicle teams came up with ideas for each.

The ideas are great, but within these posts you will also get a view into how we pick the Experts, brief them, and select the winning ideas. Plus you’ll see how we typically present ideas.
